Summer has arrived!

Summer weather is officially here and with the summer solstice being the start of “true” summer and the longest day of the year.  It’s no wonder why the Vail Valley Locals “come for the winter but stay for the summers”. The summers in the Vail Valley are some of the most spectacular in the world, and here at Camp Hale with Nova Guides we breathe in the fresh mountain air, soak in the warm sunshine and relish in the aspen groves and high alpine meadows that the Colorado Rocky Mountains are known for. Nova Guides operates on over 25,000 acres in the White River National Forest and is the home of the original 10th Mountain Division. The men of the 10th, as they are commonly called, trained among these acres in various activities including snowshoeing, shooting and climbing. After being a…

Engagement Season is Winding Down

Its official.  The unofficial engagement season is almost over.  What is engagement season you ask?  It’s those precious moments between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day when it seems like everyone knows someone that is proclaiming their engagement to all the social world.  For those of us in the event world, we would like to take a moment to take a sigh and move on to the next movement in wedding planning; the hectic race to secure a venue for the “perfect date”. As many engagement season Brides start planning the wedding of their dreams, they look for those magical Saturdays in August and September for a wedding venue in the Rocky Mountains, only to find that they are booked, and have been for quite some time.  Panic mode then sets in….”Can I have a wedding on an off day?”  “Do I really…

Nova Guides thanks you for another successful year!

Another holiday season at Camp Hale has come to an end and with all of activities available  in Colorado, snowmobiling Vail Pass and Camp Hale continues to be a favorite among guests.  Mother Nature has been kind to us here at Nova Guides, blessing us with several glorious feet of fresh Rocky Mountain Powder.    Blue bird skies offered spectacular views of Vail’s Back Bowls from our Tigiwon Snowmobile Tours and unparalleled views of the Sawatch and Gore Ranges as well as the SKY Chutes of Copper Mountain. For our guests who wanted to explore our 55,000 acres on their own, the two weeks over Christmas and New Year’s offered ample opportunities for them to find their own power stashes.  There were several rather cold days over this holiday season, however that didn’t stop our guests from enjoying themselves here at…
